WHERE ARE WE LOCATED?

ALEXANDRIA BAY

The Captain Visger House Bed & Breakfast is located in the village of Alexandria Bay.  One of many Victorian river communities with a rich and colorful history.

Alexandria Bay is fortunate to have some of the most beautiful waterfront on the river. Guests of the house have only to walk a short distance to the shore to view the spectacular St. Lawrence River.  Sitting directly across from the village is Boldt Castle. Built in the late 1800's by George Boldt, this remarkable structure, like the Captain Visger House, has gone through an amazing transformation.

The house is located across the street from the Scenic View Park and Casino Island, another great place to relax and take in the beauty of the river.
A visit to the Alexandria Township Historical Societies Museum at the historic Cornwall Brothers Building, will provide visitors an opportunity to visit the past through photographs, books, charts and historical memorabilia.  After visiting the decoy exhibit visitors will want to stop for a moment and take in the spectacular view through the back window.
At the Captain Visger House we believe the best way for visitors to experience the majesty of the St. Lawrence River and the beauty of the Thousand Islands is by boat. There are a number of ways to experience the river.  For the inexperienced or the boat challenged the river offers a number of tour lines to choose from.

Uncle Sam Boat Tour located in Alexandria Bay offers a variety of tours including lunch and dinner cruises for more information visit www.usboattours.com

Clayton Island Boat Tours departing from Clayton offers a variety of unique tours including their newest addition the Eco/Habitat tour.  For additional information visit www.claytonislandtours.com.

There are lots of ways to see and experience the river, make sure you don't miss it!
It is an experience you will never forget.

Please let us know if we can help you plan your stay!
